Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is aimed at supporting the Program Assistant for the Southern Zone, who will work under the authority of the Zone Coordinator and program referents (EHA, community mobilization, menstrual poverty) in the Southern Operations. The intern will collaborate with logistics teams, EHA, and community mobilization teams. The role involves participating in programmatic monitoring and reporting to support zone coordinators, as well as contributing to the design, technical capitalization, and field interventions with program managers. The intern will also assist in improving living conditions for vulnerable populations in France who lack access to primary services such as drinking water and sanitation, particularly in degraded habitats like slums, camps, or squats.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a variety of responsibilities, including:
  • Participating in evaluation missions and technical diagnostics related to EHA and writing reports under the supervision of the zone coordinator for the areas of Marseille, Toulouse, and Montpellier.
  • Assisting zone coordinators and program managers in the technical design of activities.
  • Monitoring and updating various program management tools, including tracking installations and project indicators.
  • Supporting program managers in operational implementations such as installations, maintenance, and distributions.
  • Assisting in the relationship with technical providers and volunteers involved in activities.
  • Participating in the centralization and dissemination of procedures, guides, and tools related to EHA activities in France.
  • Contributing to the writing of projects and donor reports under the supervision of the zone coordinator.
  • Participating in the archiving of administrative and programmatic documents.
  • Assisting in the recruitment process for the replacement intern at the end of the contract.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should have studies in development, water and sanitation, project management, environmental health, or political sciences. Knowledge of Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation (WASH) and/or familiarity with the humanitarian sector is an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS software (Earth, QGIS) is required. Strong analytical and writing skills, good synthesis abilities, proactivity, critical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate commitment to the principles and work of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL and possess a valid driver's license (Permis B).

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes studies in fields related to development, water and sanitation, project management, environmental health, or political sciences. A solid understanding of the humanitarian context and WASH principles is highly desirable.

Experience:
The position is intended for interns, so prior professional experience is not strictly required. However, any relevant experience in humanitarian work, project management, or related fields will be considered an advantage. The intern should be eager to learn and contribute to the organization's mission.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in English is also beneficial, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with international teams.

Additional Notes:
The internship is based in the Solidarités International office in Marseille, with occasional field trips to areas such as Toulouse and Montpellier. The contract is for a duration of 6 months, starting on June 16, 202
  • The position is offered under student status (internship or apprenticeship), with a legal stipend of 15% of the hourly social security ceiling, calculated based on actual hours worked. Additionally, the organization provides meal vouchers (60% coverage) and transportation allowances (50% coverage).
