This unit supports humanitarian actors by facilitating, optimizing, and accelerating the delivery of aid in emergency situations and chronic crisis contexts. The primary objective of this role is to ensure compliance with ATLAS technical standards while providing strategic and pedagogical technical guidance. The specialist will guarantee the technical quality of logistics platform activities dedicated to other humanitarian actors in the field, managing the flow of humanitarian inputs from entry points in the country to the beneficiaries. The role involves supporting field teams to enhance their capacities and improve project quality, providing norms and methodologies, offering advice, and conducting training both on-site and remotely. The specialist will also identify and encourage synergies within the sector and externally, producing and managing the technical toolset for the logistics platform.
Duties and Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the Global Specialist Transport and Warehousing include: - Developing, framing, and disseminating approaches and tools for logistics platforms; - Participating in the development and dissemination of knowledge and positioning within their area of expertise; - Providing technical and methodological support to projects concerning logistics platform activities, including design, implementation, and project monitoring; - Contributing to the strategic deployment of AL's professions; - Ensuring the quality and compliance of logistics operations; - Supporting the training and capacity building of field teams; - Facilitating communication and collaboration among various stakeholders in the humanitarian sector; - Producing and managing technical documentation and tools for logistics operations; - Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of logistics strategies and operations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess solid experience in logistics (transport, warehousing, etc.) for others (B2B and/or H2H) and in international solidarity. They should have experience in humanitarian project management, including logical frameworks and project proposals, with knowledge of donor rules and operations. Candidates must be adept at organizing land transport using both owned fleets and chartering, with at least one successful experience in logistics project sizing for others, including needs analysis, risk identification, and transforming identified needs into concrete service offers. Strong networking skills, excellent formalization abilities for tools and procedures, and strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Candidates should be team-oriented, resilient under stress, and possess a good sense of humor.
