Job Overview:
The position of Responsable Réadaptation Physique et Fonctionnelle en Urgence is crucial within the Emergency Division, which consists of a team of 16 individuals responsible for monitoring, alerting, and preparing for emergencies, as well as executing emergency interventions both at headquarters and in the field. The role involves participating in the initial assessment of emergency response operations following humanitarian crises, contributing to strategy definition, and leading the deployment of physical and functional rehabilitation operations in new programs or areas following disasters. The individual will work closely with specialists in physical and functional rehabilitation and will be responsible for managing project teams, ensuring quality actions, and representing HI in coordination mechanisms related to emergency rehabilitation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the initial diagnostic of emergency response operations following a humanitarian crisis, contributing to strategy and methodology definition, and conducting needs assessments.
  • Lead and coordinate the deployment of physical and functional rehabilitation operations in new programs or areas post-disaster, ensuring compliance with HI and donor standards.
  • Develop operational, technical, budgetary, and logistical frameworks for emergency interventions, collaborating with specialists and ensuring integrated approaches with MHPSS and livelihoods teams.
  • Manage project teams, including defining project structures, recruiting, and ensuring team integration and performance evaluation.
  • Monitor the quality of actions taken, ensuring adherence to established criteria and indicators.
  • Represent HI in coordination mechanisms for emergency rehabilitation and contribute to advocacy efforts.
  • Participate in institutional capitalisation and the development of methodologies, tools, and training for emergency response.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in physical and functional rehabilitation in emergency contexts. A degree in physiotherapy or occupational therapy is required, along with additional training in project management or humanitarian operations. Candidates should possess a good understanding of emergency donor regulations and processes. Proficiency in both English and French is mandatory, while knowledge of Spanish or Arabic is a plus. Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, are also required.

Educational Background:
A degree in physiotherapy or occupational therapy is essential for this position. Additional qualifications in project management or humanitarian operations are preferred, particularly in the context of international humanitarian action.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in physical and functional rehabilitation in emergency settings. This includes at least 2 years in a leadership or coordinator role within the field of rehabilitation, as well as experience in SMSPS and inclusion sectors, particularly in developing intervention frameworks for emergency rehabilitation.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and French is required for this position. Knowledge of Spanish or Arabic is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in diverse contexts.
