Job Overview: The Online Volunteer position is designed to support the World Food Programme in creating a WFP-branded shopper bag. This role involves working under the guidance of a Partnerships Specialist and collaborating closely with the communications team. The primary expectation is to design a shopper bag that adheres to WFP’s corporate branding guidelines, which will be provided to the volunteers. This bag will serve a practical purpose for holding documents, handouts, and promotional materials for government counterparts, donors, UN agencies, and other partners. By participating in this project, volunteers will play a crucial role in enhancing WFP’s visibility and engagement with key stakeholders, thereby contributing to the organization's mission of addressing food insecurity and promoting nutrition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Partnerships Specialist and communications team to understand the design requirements and objectives for the shopper bag.
Review and adhere to WFP’s corporate branding guidelines to ensure consistency in design.
Create initial design concepts for the shopper bag, incorporating feedback from the team.
Finalize the design based on collaborative input and ensure it meets the functional requirements for use in various contexts.
Prepare design files for production and ensure they are delivered in the required formats.
Engage in discussions about the design process and provide updates to the team as needed.
Contribute ideas for enhancing the visibility of WFP through the design of the shopper bag.
Required Qualifications:
Strong design skills with experience in graphic design or a related field.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
Understanding of branding principles and experience in creating branded materials.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Educational Background: A background in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have relevant coursework or training that demonstrates their design capabilities and understanding of branding.
Experience: Previous experience in graphic design, particularly in creating promotional materials or branded items, is highly desirable. Experience working with non-profit organizations or in humanitarian contexts is a plus, but not mandatory.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and guidelines will be provided in English. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Russian or Kyrgyz, would be considered an asset but is not required.
