Job Overview:
The position of Consultant(e) nationale en Graphic Design & Editing is crucial for the UNDP's Provincial Segment of the PUDC (Programme d'Urgence de Développement Communautaire) in the Ogooué Ivindo region. The consultant will be responsible for creating a wide range of graphic design materials that are essential for effective communication within the project. This includes designing posters, brochures, flyers, banners, and infographics that convey important messages to the community. The consultant will also be tasked with layout and typography for both printed and electronic publications, ensuring that all materials are visually appealing and professionally presented. Additionally, the role involves creating animated graphics and video elements, editing photographs, and producing video content that aligns with the project's objectives. The consultant will need to adapt visuals for various social media formats, ensuring that the content is engaging and suitable for different platforms. The overall expectation is to enhance the visibility and impact of the project through high-quality graphic design and editing work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Designing all types of communication materials such as posters, brochures, flyers, banners, and infographics.
  • Performing layout and typography for printed and electronic publications.
  • Creating animated graphics and video elements for multimedia presentations.
  • Editing and retouching photographs and other visual elements to enhance their quality.
  • Conducting video editing, including assembly, transitions, graphic overlays, and subtitling.
  • Producing social media visuals in various formats (square, vertical, carousel, stories, reels, etc.).
  • Creating short and long video capsules or interviews, including soundtracks, titling, and credits.
  • Adapting visual materials into multiple formats and languages as required for dissemination across different channels (print, web, social media).
  • Structuring and archiving all source files and deliverables for future reuse. 1
  • Executing any other tasks as requested by the CTP (Chief Technical Person) that fall within the scope of the project’s mandate.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in graphic design and editing, with proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro). A solid understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience in creating content for various media formats, including print and digital. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams are also required. Familiarity with social media platforms and their specific content requirements is a plus.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Communication, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in graphic design or multimedia production will be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a strong portfolio showcasing their design work and previous projects.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in graphic design and editing is required. Experience working with international organizations or in development projects will be an advantage. Candidates should have a proven track record of delivering high-quality design work under tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as all communication and materials will primarily be in French. Proficiency in English is considered a good to have, as it may facilitate communication with international teams and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration for this position is 3 months (90 calendar days). This is a full-time consultancy role, and candidates are expected to work on-site in Libreville, Gabon. The position is open to national consultants only. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and benefits may include access to UNDP resources and training opportunities.
