Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Fundraising Operations Assistant include processing incoming donations such as cash, cheques, card payments, and digital contributions, ensuring that all transactions are handled in a timely and accurate manner. You will be responsible for maintaining organized and secure digital records, including scanned donation forms and related correspondence. Additionally, you will update Gift Aid declarations in compliance with HMRC regulations, ensuring that all records are complete and compliant. You will track and record email subscription statuses and supporter communications across various platforms, oversee the administration of recurring donor accounts, and conduct regular data audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of supporter records in The Raiser’s Edge. Furthermore, you will process invoices related to fundraising operations and support the continuous improvement of internal procedures for gift processing, acknowledgments, and data imports. In terms of stewardship, you will serve as the first point of contact for the fundraising team, providing timely and courteous supporter care, ensuring that all donors receive appropriate acknowledgments, and collaborating with the wider Fundraising Team to enhance engagement and retention.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the Fundraising Operations Assistant position, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or have at least 2 years of administrative or coordination support experience. Experience working with fundraising CRMs or relational databases is essential, and familiarity with The Raiser’s Edge is a plus, though not mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, with the ability to review and manipulate datasets effectively. Candidates should also have experience in donor care or customer service, and experience in processing donations is desirable. A solid understanding of data protection regulations is necessary to ensure compliance across all activities.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in administrative support or coordination. This educational foundation will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage donor relations and fundraising operations.

Experience:
Candidates for the Fundraising Operations Assistant role should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in administrative support or coordination. Experience in fundraising environments, particularly with donor care and processing donations, is highly desirable.
