Job Overview: The Partnership Coordinator will ensure the implementation and strategic development of NRC's partnership approach in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), ensuring effective, transparent collaboration practices that align with programmatic objectives, humanitarian principles, and localization. The role is central to framing, monitoring, and strengthening partnerships, ensuring their quality, compliance, and contribution to program impact. The position involves cross-departmental work with program and support departments under the supervision of the Grants Manager. The coordinator will be responsible for establishing and updating a strategic mapping of partners, maintaining trust-based relationships with key partners, and ensuring their inclusion in project planning and design phases. Additionally, the coordinator will prepare and manage partnership contracts in coordination with relevant departments, supervise the implementation of NRC's partnership management tools, and establish joint monitoring plans focused on compliance, risk management, and resource utilization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the Partnership Coordinator include: establishing and updating a strategic mapping of partners; building and maintaining trust-based relationships with key partners; ensuring partner inclusion in project planning and design phases; preparing and managing partnership contracts in coordination with relevant departments; supervising the implementation of NRC's partnership management tools; setting up joint monitoring plans focused on compliance, risk management, and resource utilization; coordinating field follow-up visits and ensuring recommendations are followed up; ensuring proper archiving and documentation of partnership processes; identifying training needs and proposing suitable modalities; following up and evaluating the impact of capacity-building activities on partners' organizational quality; promoting mutual learning and continuous improvement of partnership practices; documenting lessons learned; and participating in internal working groups on partnership approaches.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications: a minimum of a Bac+5 degree in a relevant field (international relations, economics, rural development, etc.); at least 3 years of experience in project management within NGOs in a post-conflict context, including proposal writing, reporting, and grant management; a minimum of 3 years of experience in partnership management and localization; the ability to develop a partnership strategy; knowledge of NRC's areas of intervention in DRC; the ability to understand NRC's strategic issues in DRC and analyze organizational needs; mastery of accountability principles, risk management, and compliance related to partner grants; knowledge of protection and partnership principles and standards; excellent analytical and writing skills; proficiency in facilitating training sessions, workshops, etc.; and rigor in archiving, traceability, and documentation of processes.
Educational Background: Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Bac+5 degree in a relevant field such as international relations, economics, or rural development. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of partnership management and the humanitarian context in which NRC operates.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in project management within NGOs, particularly in post-conflict settings. This experience should include skills in proposal writing, reporting, and grant management, as well as specific experience in partnership management and localization. The candidate should also have a proven track record of developing partnership strategies and managing relationships with key stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in the DRC. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with international partners. Knowledge of local languages can be an asset and is considered a good-to-have skill.
