Job Overview:
The Finance Technical Assistant position at NRC involves ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures, particularly those outlined in the NRC financial handbook. The role requires the timely submission of accurate accounts to the country office in Addis Ababa every Monday, as well as the safe custody of NRC finances. The assistant will manage petty cash floats and ensure that all financial transactions are documented accurately. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Technical Assistant will have a range of duties and responsibilities, including ensuring timely scanning of all vouchers before they are sent to the Addis Ababa country office. The assistant will follow up on cash advances and their purposes, ensuring value for money when verifying accountabilities. Responsibilities also include preparing and reviewing payment vouchers and invoices for accuracy, reconciling discrepancies, and arranging for bank withdrawals and transfers. The assistant will record all cash movements, make approved payments, and follow up on advances and refunds. Daily, weekly, and monthly cash counts will be required, along with the scanning, review, and preparation of checklists. The assistant will also perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor, contributing to the overall financial management of NRC's operations in the region.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Finance Technical Assistant position must possess a BA degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Studies. Relevant experience of 2 to 4 years in accounting, preferably within an (I)NGO or similar organization, is required. Experience working as a Support Function Officer in a humanitarian or recovery context is highly desirable. Candidates should have documented results related to the position's responsibilities and some knowledge of English. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, along with strict attention to detail in policy and practice.
