Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
The position is located within the Solutions Transformation (ST) Team in the Software Products for Member States Unit (SPMS), which is part of the Digital Transformation and Solutions (DTS) within the Information Technology Service (ITS) of the Division for Management (DM) at the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The organization focuses on providing technological solutions and support to member states, enhancing their capabilities in various areas, including combating financial crime. Job Overview:
The Associate Information Systems Officer will play a crucial role in providing training and support to Member States, particularly in the implementation and configuration of software solutions provided by the Software Products for Member States Unit. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting training sessions, offering first and second-level support, and ensuring compliance with established development procedures. This position requires a proactive approach to communication with clients, as well as the ability to analyze data and produce reports that inform decision-making processes. The role also involves preparing technical documentation and engaging in product demonstrations, making it essential for the incumbent to possess strong technical skills and a deep understanding of information systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will perform a variety of specific duties, including: assisting in coordinating and conducting system and functional training activities for end users of the goAML application; preparing training materials and designing training courses; providing first and second-level support for application systems deployed in Member States; participating in software configuration and documenting product scope; ensuring compliance with UNODC standard policies; preparing technical and user documentation; engaging in product demonstrations and project scoping; maintaining communication with clients; handling client complaints and incidents; analyzing customer service data; producing social media content; and contributing to data collection and analysis for informed decision-making. The role requires a commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and client orientation, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in information systems, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in similar fields combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. Certification in project management frameworks such as Prince 2 or PMP is desirable. The position requires a strong understanding of systems design, development, and management, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret data to support decision-making processes.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in information systems, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields, combined with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Candidates with a first-level university degree and no experience may be considered if they have passed the United Nations Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE), or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).

Experience:
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in IT software training, support, or delivery is required. Alternatively, successful completion of the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE), or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P) may fulfill this requirement. Experience with .Net associated technologies and TFS frameworks is desirable, as is experience in combating financial crime with technology in the areas of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT). Work experience within the United Nations system or similar international organizations is also desirable, as is experience in data analytics or related fields.

Languages:
Fluency in English and French is required, as these are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable, and proficiency in another official United Nations language is considered an advantage. The ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages is essential for this role, given the international nature of the work and the diverse clientele served by the organization.

This position is funded from extra budgetary resources, and the initial appointment will be for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension subject to funding availability.
