Job Overview: The Associate Research Contracts and Partnership Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the partnership and outreach activities related to the Coordinated Research Activities (CRAs) and the Collaborating Centres Scheme within the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications. This position involves contributing to the efficient administration of these activities, which are essential for enhancing the capacity of Member States to utilize nuclear and isotopic techniques for sustainable development. The officer will be responsible for processing documents and contracts, ensuring the accuracy and quality of information, and maintaining various data records. The role requires collaboration with staff at all levels and may involve communication with external stakeholders to clarify information and relay instructions. The officer will also assist in guiding junior staff and ensuring that deadlines are met for various projects and activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Research Contracts and Partnership Officer include:
Recording, processing, and maintaining information related to the Collaborating Centres Scheme, including preparing standard letters for communication with Collaborating Centres and Permanent Missions.
Supporting the coordination and facilitation of designations and re-designations of Centres under the IAEA Collaborating Centres Scheme, ensuring efficient administration across departments.
Assisting in refining processes and procedures related to the Collaborating Centre Scheme and optimizing the Departmental partnership database.
Engaging in resource mobilization efforts to enhance partnerships within the Department.
Preparing, formatting, and uploading information on the CRA and Collaborating Centre web pages.
Carrying out administrative duties related to research, technical, and doctoral contracts, including data input, information validation, document preparation, quality checks, and follow-up on pending issues.
Assisting in the design, testing, and documentation of IT solutions for managing Coordinated Research Activities and the Collaborating Centres Scheme.
Supporting the preparation of relevant information, tables, charts, and other components of documents related to the Coordinated Research Activities and Collaborating Centre Scheme.
Performing backup work and other duties as assigned by the Section Head.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business Informatics, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Engineering, or a related field. Candidates should possess relevant working experience at the national or international level, particularly in programme/project support and partnership, which would be advantageous. Knowledge of designing, implementing, and maintaining SharePoint platforms, PowerBI, and relational databases is essential. Candidates should also have the ability to analyze data and business processes, suggest innovative solutions, and produce statistical reports and documents for programme review and outreach. Attention to detail and a focus on quality and accuracy are critical for this role.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Management, Business Informatics, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform the duties associated with the position effectively.
Experience: Candidates should have some relevant working experience at the national or international level, particularly in areas related to programme/project support and partnership. Additional Notes: The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $43,834, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. A variable post adjustment currently amounts to US $22,838, along with dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, and relocation and repatriation expenses. Employees enjoy 6 weeks of annual leave, home leave travel, a pension plan, and health insurance.
