This forum will serve as a flagship international platform to showcase China's sustainable urban development practices and foster global dialogue on low-carbon cities, international cooperation, and innovative urban governance. Volunteers will support the smooth operation of the Forum and enhance the experience of international participants, contributing to the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The volunteers will work closely with UNDP and the Chaoyang District People’s Government to advance global cooperation on sustainable urban development, co-hosting significant sessions such as the Beijing CBD Multinational Corporation Conference and Asian Mayors Forum, while providing technical and policy expertise and facilitating knowledge exchange among cities, multinational enterprises, and development partners.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteers will be responsible for several key tasks, including:
Supporting translation tasks between Chinese and English, providing basic interpretation or bilingual assistance remotely for international guests.
Assisting in documentation and other supporting tasks as needed, which includes translating meeting notes, summaries, and preparing simple logistics materials.
Ensuring that translations are concise, adhere to communications guidelines, and are appropriate for the intended audience.
Collaborating with other volunteers and UNDP staff to ensure effective communication and coordination during the Forum.
Engaging with international participants to enhance their experience and facilitate their understanding of the Forum's objectives and activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong bilingual skills in Chinese and English, with a focus on translation and interpretation.
