Job Overview:
The position of Individual Contractor is focused on providing specialized advisory services to the Dirección de Reconstrucción del Tejido Social (Directorate of Social Fabric Reconstruction) in El Salvador. The contractor will be responsible for developing products and processes related to the strategic lines of action for social inclusion. This role requires a deep understanding of social development strategies and the ability to implement effective solutions that align with the goals of the UNDP and the specific needs of the Directorate. The contractor will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the initiatives are effectively integrated and that they contribute to the overall mission of fostering social cohesion and inclusion in the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include but are not limited to:
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to the Directorate on the development of social inclusion strategies.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for social fabric reconstruction.
  • Designing and implementing processes that enhance community engagement and participation in social initiatives.
  • Developing training materials and conducting workshops to build capacity within the Directorate and among community leaders.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented strategies and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Preparing reports and documentation to communicate progress and outcomes to UNDP and other relevant parties.
  • Ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in social development, public policy, or a related field. They should have proven experience in working with governmental or non-governmental organizations on social inclusion projects. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the values and principles of the United Nations, including respect for diversity and inclusion.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public administration, international development, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an advantage. Candidates should also have relevant certifications or training in project management or social development methodologies.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of professional experience in social development, community engagement, or related fields. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of UNDP projects, is highly desirable. Candidates should have a track record of successfully managing projects and delivering results in complex environments.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders and government officials. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with international partners. Knowledge of other languages relevant to the local context may also be beneficial.

This is a contract position for a duration of 120 calendar days.
