Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the National Tourism and Private Sector Specialist include:
Conducting assessments of the current tourism landscape in Jamaica to identify opportunities for sustainable development.
Engaging with private sector stakeholders to promote sustainable tourism practices and encourage investment in eco-friendly initiatives.
Collaborating with government agencies to align tourism strategies with national policies and sustainable development goals.
Developing and implementing training programs for local businesses on sustainable tourism practices.
Facilitating workshops and meetings with stakeholders to foster collaboration and share best practices.
Monitoring and evaluating the impact of tourism initiatives on local communities and the environment.
Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
