Job Overview: The Camp de Codage pour les Filles is an initiative aimed at empowering young Senegalese girls aged 17 to 25 by enhancing their digital skills, technical knowledge, and leadership abilities. This program is part of the broader initiative, 'Les Filles Africaines Savent Coder' (AGCCI), which seeks to bridge the gender digital divide by providing girls with the necessary skills to thrive in the technology sector. The camp will take place from June 16 to June 25, 2025, and will focus on teaching participants programming, web development, application creation, and robotics. In addition to technical training, the camp will address gender issues in technology, cybersecurity, and online safety, fostering a supportive environment for girls to build confidence and pursue careers in STEM fields. The program aims to create a network of role models and encourage participants to engage with their communities, sharing their experiences and knowledge gained during the camp.
Duties and Responsibilities: Participants in the Camp de Codage will engage in a variety of activities designed to enhance their digital literacy and technical skills. They will learn the fundamentals of coding, programming, and digital creation through a participatory pedagogy approach. The camp will also include workshops on gender issues in technology, online safety, and digital rights, ensuring that participants are well-informed about the challenges they may face in the digital world. Additionally, the camp will provide opportunities for participants to work on individual or group projects, culminating in the presentation of their digital creations at the end of the camp. Participants will also be encouraged to develop their leadership skills and self-confidence, preparing them for future studies or careers in technology. Networking opportunities with women in the tech sector will be provided to inspire and motivate the girls.
