Job Overview: The position of International Expert on FAE Detection Equipment and Asset Management involves providing specialized expertise in the field of FAE (Fire Alarm Equipment) detection systems and the management of assets related to these systems. The expert will be responsible for assessing current practices, recommending improvements, and ensuring that the equipment meets international standards. This role requires a deep understanding of both technical specifications and asset management principles, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including government officials and technical teams. The expert will also be expected to contribute to capacity building initiatives, ensuring that local teams are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage FAE detection systems effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing FAE detection equipment and asset management practices.
Develop and recommend strategies for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of FAE detection systems.
Provide technical guidance and support to local teams in the implementation of recommended practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that all equipment meets international safety and operational standards.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation outlining findings, recommendations, and action plans.
Facilitate training sessions and workshops for local personnel on best practices in FAE detection and asset management.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of recommended strategies and provide ongoing support as needed.
Engage with procurement processes to ensure that new equipment meets the required specifications and standards.
Required Qualifications:
Proven expertise in FAE detection systems and asset management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex systems and recommend improvements.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in capacity building and training of local teams.
Familiarity with international standards and regulations related to fire safety and detection systems.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in Engineering, Fire Safety, Asset Management, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in fire safety or asset management will be considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in FAE detection systems and asset management is required. Experience working with international organizations or in a development context is highly desirable. Proven track record of successfully implementing similar projects will be an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Albanian or other local languages is considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and teams.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as an individual contractor role, and the contract duration will be specified upon selection. The position is full-time, and the expert is expected to work closely with the UNDP office in Albania. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and additional benefits may be provided as per UNDP policies.
