Job Overview:
The Research Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Office of the Focal Point for Delisting by conducting thorough research and analysis of documents related to delisting requests. The incumbent will be responsible for summarizing pertinent materials, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing background materials for various assessments, studies, briefs, and reports. This position requires a proactive approach to information gathering, ensuring accuracy and clarity in statistical data, and maintaining comprehensive profiles for each delisting request. The Research Assistant will also engage in substantive discussions, maintain contacts with other UN departments and agencies, and assist in the preparation of documentation for conferences and meetings. The role demands a high level of professionalism, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Research Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: selecting and evaluating documents, summarizing relevant information, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing background materials for reports and assessments. The incumbent will systematically retrieve and compile information from various sources, ensuring the accuracy and validity of statistical data. Responsibilities also include designing and maintaining profiles for delisting requests, preparing reports and presentations, participating in policy discussions, and maintaining internal databases. The Research Assistant will draft project summaries, coordinate the review and clearance process for reports, arrange travel for staff, and assist in preparing documentation for meetings. Additionally, the role involves providing guidance and training to junior staff and assisting with data presentations and visualizations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of seven years of experience in collecting and researching data for social, political, or conflict analysis is required, along with demonstrated drafting experience. Experience in data analytics or related areas is desirable. The position requires a strong understanding of the policies and procedures of the Security Council and the ability to organize and summarize information effectively. Candidates should exhibit professionalism, efficiency, and a commitment to gender perspectives in their work.

Educational Background:
While a high school diploma is the minimum educational requirement, candidates with further education or specialized training in relevant fields such as political science, international relations, or data analysis may be preferred. The role emphasizes the importance of having a solid foundation in research methodologies and analytical skills.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant work experience, particularly in data collection and research for social, political, or conflict analysis. Languages:
