Job Overview:
The Senior Strategy Officer will play a crucial role in enhancing the operational efficiency of the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) at the World Bank. This position involves managing the workflow of the Vice President/Director-General's office, ensuring timely delivery of tasks, and contributing to the preparation of reports for the Committee on Development Effectiveness (CODE). The officer will support research on economic and evaluation topics, utilize data visualization tools, and summarize complex Bank documents. The role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders within the World Bank Group to ensure alignment and clarity on operational issues. The Senior Strategy Officer will also be involved in strategic planning and decision-making processes, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the IEG's mission to improve development outcomes through rigorous evaluation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Strategy Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: improving the workflow of the Vice President's office, ensuring operational systems are efficient and effective; contributing to regular reports to CODE, including quarterly updates and work program documents; preparing documentation such as administrative procedures and guidance; supporting research on economic and evaluation topics; utilizing data tools for analysis and visualization; summarizing Bank documents and identifying potential issues; and coordinating with counterparts in WBG operations and the Board to ensure clarity and alignment on work priorities. The officer will also lead initiatives to enhance evaluation capacity in developing countries and promote best practices in international development evaluation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in economics or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience. A strong familiarity with World Bank Group products, processes, policies, and procedures is essential. The ideal candidate will have outstanding writing skills, the ability to synthesize complex reports quickly, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should demonstrate strong personal maturity, balanced judgment, and a proven track record of building and maintaining partnerships. The candidate must also exhibit proactive and innovative thinking, with a collaborative work style that values diverse perspectives.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in economics or a relevant area of expertise is required for this position. This educational background is critical as it provides the necessary analytical skills and knowledge base to effectively contribute to the World Bank's mission and the specific responsibilities of the Senior Strategy Officer role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
