Job Overview: The IT Analyst, Business Analysis position at the World Bank Group is designed for individuals who are passionate about using technology to drive development solutions. The role involves working within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency, which aims to enable the WBG to achieve its mission through transformative information and technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing IT solutions and supporting existing cloud-based applications that serve the IDA Mobilization and IBRD Corporate Finance units. This position requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to act as the voice of the customer, ensuring that the IT solutions align with business objectives and deliver measurable benefits. The IT Analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders, including Product Owners and Scrum Masters, to define and prioritize the team’s backlog, facilitate Agile ceremonies, and ensure effective communication across teams.
Duties and Responsibilities: The IT Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including supporting Product Owners and Business Owners in defining and prioritizing the backlog, collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, and actively participating in Agile ceremonies such as PI Planning and sprint reviews. The Analyst will ensure backlog transparency and prioritization, work closely with Agile teams to implement new IT solutions, and support the maintenance of cloud-based systems. Additionally, the Analyst will translate business requirements into actionable user stories, monitor potential risks, and facilitate communication between onsite and offshore teams. The role also involves preparing test cases, participating in post-implementation reviews, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the BFSI/Finance sector, preferably with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). Familiarity with Agile methodologies, experience working with geographically distributed teams, and a proactive approach to liaising with stakeholders are essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in a relevant field is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates should have a strong academic background in finance, information technology, or a related discipline, with a focus on systems design and implementation.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for those with a Master's degree, or 4 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. Experience in the BFSI/Finance sector, particularly with MDBs, is preferred. Candidates should also have experience working in Agile environments and with geographically distributed teams across different time zones.
