Job Overview:
The position of Oficial de Movilización de Recursos y Alianzas involves supporting the implementation of the Regional Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Strategy under the supervision of the Regional Director and the Regional Advisor on Resource Mobilization and Partnerships. The role is crucial for advancing UNFPA's strategic resource mobilization efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean, particularly in collaborating with non-traditional donors such as the private sector and philanthropic foundations. The volunteer will provide high-level technical support and coordination to strengthen fundraising strategies, donor relations, proposal development, and contract management across regional and country offices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive regional resource mobilization efforts by providing strategic guidance to country offices in identifying and leveraging funding opportunities, supporting proposal development and donor agreements, and coordinating regional fundraising activities.
  • Strengthen partnerships with the private sector and non-traditional donors by leading regional coordination and intelligence gathering on opportunities for engagement, supporting innovative proposal preparation, and ensuring alignment with UNFPA policies.
  • Incorporate resource mobilization and partnerships as key capabilities by designing and implementing tailored training on resource mobilization and strategic alliances.
  • Enhance engagement with strategic partnerships by facilitating greater commitment from non-traditional donors and supporting country offices in implementing scalable partnership models.
  • Monitor the funding landscape by regularly tracking donor trends, funding announcements, and strategic opportunities through social media and donor platforms.
  • Foster regional and multinational partnerships by identifying and cultivating strategic alliances with private sector actors, philanthropic foundations, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Support country offices in diversifying their funding sources, particularly with the private sector, by providing technical and strategic assistance to expand the donor base.
  • Perform other tasks as required by the Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Advisor and contribute to cross-cutting activities within the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Experience in resource mobilization, partnership building, and fundraising is essential. Candidates should demonstrate creativity, adaptability, and professionalism in their approach to work. Knowledge of the cultural context of Latin America and the Caribbean is highly valued, as is experience working with the private sector and strategic partnerships.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in international relations, development studies, public administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may enhance the candidate's competitiveness for the position.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in resource mobilization, partnerships, or related fields. Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or the UN system is an advantage. Proven track record in fundraising and donor engagement is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region is a plus.
