Job Overview: The position of Coordinateur.trice Partenariats et Subventions is a key role within the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team, reporting directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director. The incumbent will work closely with program and support departments, as well as field teams. The primary objectives of this position include tracking and identifying funding opportunities in line with SI's national and global strategy, anticipating programmatic deadlines and donor requirements, and coordinating various departments to ensure that project proposals, reports, and contract modification requests are of high quality and submitted on time. The role also involves supervising the compilation and drafting of project proposals and reports for submission to donors and partners, ensuring compliance with donor procedures, and enhancing the capacity of teams in fundraising and strategic partnerships at the local level. The position requires proactive management of donor contractual obligations and the ability to strengthen existing partnerships while initiating new ones with international and local NGOs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Coordinateur.trice Partenariats et Subventions include:
Monitoring and identifying funding opportunities in accordance with SI's strategic objectives.
Coordinating with various departments to ensure timely and high-quality submission of project proposals, reports, and contract modifications.
Supervising the compilation and drafting of project proposals and reports for donors and partners.
Ensuring compliance with donor procedures and enhancing team capacity in accountability tools and donor procedures.
Strengthening team capacity in seeking funding opportunities and strategic partnerships at the local level.
Managing the grants department team, including the RCO, grant manager, and partnership officer.
Proactively monitoring donor contractual obligations from contract signing to closure and archiving.
Enhancing colleagues' skills in report writing and project proposal development.
Contributing to the development of internal and external communication materials. 1
Initiating and participating in meetings with donors to understand their strategies across the three countries of operation. 1
Coordinating donor audits on the ground and preparing necessary documentation for external audits.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with prior experience in a similar role considered an asset.
Knowledge of the rules and procedures of various institutional donors.
Strong writing, analytical, and synthesis skills.
Planning, organizational, and coordination skills to manage a significant daily workload with multiple requests.
Direct and functional management skills.
Sufficient financial knowledge to understand and review financial reports and budgets.
A strong sense of diplomacy and experience working in intercultural environments.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a higher education degree in political science, development, international relations, or an equivalent field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the dynamics of partnerships and funding.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. A prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous, as it would provide the necessary skills and understanding of the challenges faced in grants and partnership management within humanitarian contexts.
Languages: The mandatory languages for this position are French and English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with local teams, donors, and partners. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
Additional Notes: This position is a short-term contract with a duration of 1 year, subject to funding. The role is based in Yaoundé, where living conditions are comfortable. The contract includes a salary starting from EUR 2640 gross per month, which consists of a base salary of EUR 2400 plus a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, and a monthly per diem of USD 600 in Chad/Cameroon and USD 850 in the Central African Republic. SI also covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. During the mission, a work and leave alternation system is implemented, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, along with an additional day of rest for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance covering all medical expenses, including dental and ophthalmological care, repatriation, and necessary vaccinations and malaria treatments. The position requires regular travel to various mission bases, including N'Djamena and Bangui, and candidates should be aware of the security constraints in these regions.
