Duties and Responsibilities: The HSS Technical Assistant will have a range of responsibilities, including:
Constantly monitoring various information sources to gather data on the security situation in the Palestine Country Office area, including Gaza and East Jerusalem/West Bank.
Collecting and storing security-related data using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and QGIS.
Assisting the HSS Officer in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports based on the analyzed data.
Maintaining location boards to track NRC staff and vehicles.
Alerting security focal points of significant events by monitoring local news, social media, and other channels.
Coordinating with the transport section to facilitate safe transportation for staff and visitors.
Staying informed about security events in the area of responsibility and communicating relevant information to the HSS unit.
Drafting and distributing SMS announcements to staff as requested by the security department.
Performing any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor or HSS Manager.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. They should demonstrate high attention to detail and the ability to complete paperwork accurately. Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are essential, along with proficiency in computer applications, particularly database management and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint). Familiarity with Power BI or similar applications is considered an asset. Candidates should also have strong listening skills and be fluent in both English and Arabic, with Hebrew knowledge being an additional advantage. A minimum of one year of experience in the non-profit or NGO sector, particularly within international humanitarian assistance programs, is required.
