Job Overview: The Data Base Officer position is crucial for providing information management support to the Protection and Education programs of NRC in Ukraine. This role involves managing data related to conflict-affected individuals who are facing risks related to protection and access to education. The Data Base Officer will be responsible for overseeing data management processes, conducting data analysis, and generating reports that align with NRC's monitoring, evaluation, and data protection standards. Duties and Responsibilities: The Data Base Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: adhering to NRC policies and guidelines, ensuring that project-specific databases are operational throughout the project lifecycle, organizing and delivering tasks according to priorities, maintaining knowledge of data management tools, and preparing status reports as required. Specific duties include supporting the development of data management systems, maintaining the Protection and Education database, implementing a filing system for relevant documentation, ensuring proper data storage, contributing to data quality control, analyzing protection and education risks, and preparing various reports and visualizations as needed. The officer will also be responsible for submitting reports and extracting data from the database as requested by program managers, as well as performing other related duties as assigned by the line manager.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Data Management, or a related field. Additionally, they should have experience working in a humanitarian or recovery context, particularly in complex and volatile environments. Strong written and spoken English skills are essential, along with fluency in Ukrainian. Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position are also required, demonstrating the candidate's capability to fulfill the role effectively.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Data Management, or analytics. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the technical aspects of data management and analysis, which are central to the role of the Data Base Officer.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, particularly in working with large datasets from various sources. Candidates should have a solid background in using Microsoft Office software, especially advanced skills in MS Excel.
