The South East Asia and Pacific Multi Country Office (EAPMCO) was established in January 2023, following the merger of the Thailand Multi-Country Office and the Cambodia Multi-Country Office. EAPMCO supports, develops, and oversees UNOPS projects across 24 countries in North East Asia, South East Asia, and the Pacific. The office is headquartered in Bangkok and comprises nine business units, focusing on various sectors including energy transition, digital transformations, and climate change. In 2024, EAPMCO implemented projects worth over USD 80 million, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development and operational excellence across its locations.

Job Overview:
The Communications Senior Officer (Graphic Designer) will work remotely as part of the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) retainer pool. This position is not full-time, and the officer will be engaged on an intermittent basis, responding to specific needs as they arise. The officer will report to the Senior Fund Manager and collaborate closely with the ETP Senior Communications Officer. Responsibilities include developing a workplan, creating impactful visuals, and ensuring that all designs adhere to ETP's branding guidelines. The role emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and the ability to adapt to changing requirements, with a focus on producing high-quality graphic materials that support ETP's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Senior Officer (Graphic Designer) will be responsible for producing a diverse portfolio of graphic products, including designs, infographics, illustrations, and templates for various media formats. Key duties include developing clear visuals based on data and content, recommending consistent design styles, supporting document editing and formatting, creating visuals for social media and promotional channels, and collaborating with ETP staff to refine design options based on feedback. The officer will also perform other related graphic design tasks as needed, ensuring that all deliverables are original and comply with copyright regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of an advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia Arts, Communications, or related fields. Alternatively, a first university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) with two additional years of relevant experience may be considered. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is required, along with familiarity with Canva or similar tools. Candidates should also have good knowledge of Google-suite applications and must submit a portfolio of at least three completed works as part of their application.

Educational Background:
The position requires a minimum advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia Arts, or Communications. A Bachelor’s degree in these fields, combined with two additional years of relevant experience, may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary skills and knowledge to produce high-quality graphic designs that meet the needs of the ETP.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in graphic design, multimedia, or visual arts is required. Candidates should have experience in graphic production from inception to published or printed products, demonstrating their ability to manage design projects effectively and deliver high-quality results.

Languages:
Fluency in written and oral English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate and collaborate in a diverse work environment.

Additional Notes:
The contract type for this position is an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA), with a contract level of ICS 9 / LICA 9 / IICA
  • The contract duration is 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and funding availability. This is a retainer position, meaning that there are no guaranteed minimum hours or days of work. Retainers are responsible for their own arrangements regarding secure internet connections and necessary equipment for work.
