Job Overview:
The Public intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Information Intern position at UNIC Lima is designed for individuals who are eager to gain practical experience in communications and public information within the context of the United Nations. The internship is structured to last for an initial period of two months, with the possibility of extension up to six months, depending on departmental needs. Interns are expected to work full-time, committing to 35 hours per week, under the supervision of a staff member. The role involves contributing to various communication initiatives, including the preparation of graphic materials for social media campaigns, assisting in media outreach, and supporting the production of information products. Interns will also engage in tasks such as updating databases, managing social media accounts, and compiling information for communication materials about the UN's work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: providing general office support; responding to complex information requests; drafting media and communication documents; assisting in the production and delivery of communication products; supporting media outreach efforts; updating internal databases; managing the UN website and social media accounts; researching and compiling information for communication materials; producing digital imaging and writing captions for UN photos; assisting in video and audio-visual projects; developing social media products; monitoring news and reactions relevant to UN priorities; and updating directories and distribution lists. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma as a minimum educational requirement. They should meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required, applicants should have a field of study closely related to the internship. Proof of enrollment or completion of the relevant educational program must be provided with the application.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes being a student in the final year of a first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or being enrolled in or having completed a Master’s or Ph.D. program. Candidates must demonstrate that they meet the educational criteria by providing official documentation with their application.

Experience:
While no professional work experience is required for this internship, candidates should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the position. This could include experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or related fields, which would be beneficial for fulfilling the internship duties effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken, read, and written Spanish is mandatory for this internship, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Information Centre.
