SI has been active in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) since 2001, addressing humanitarian needs and participating in the fight against epidemics. Job Overview:
The Logisticien.ne is responsible for implementing and supervising all logistical activities at their assigned base. This role involves organizing logistical support for programs in compliance with Solidarités International procedures and donor requirements. The Logisticien.ne is expected to contribute to the logistical aspects of program development and assist logistics teams in building their capacities. They will also support the field coordinator in implementing security rules and serve as the primary contact for logistical matters in their intervention zone. The position requires a proactive approach to logistics management and the ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of humanitarian operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logisticien.ne will have several key responsibilities, including:
  • Procurement: Initiating purchases for project phases, reviewing hotel contracting procedures, and managing procurement timelines.
  • Management and Security of Facilities: Overseeing the renewal of security equipment, reviewing electrical and plumbing systems, and searching for new facilities to optimize guest and office space.
  • Financial Management: Planning logistics expenses for 2025, rationalizing logistics costs, and updating capacity-building plans.
  • Human Resources: Adjusting the logistics department based on project acquisition.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols in a volatile context, particularly in the Ituri province, which is affected by inter-community conflicts and armed groups.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a background in logistics, preferably with training from Bioforce or a bachelor's degree in logistics/Supply Chain. They should have 0-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and ideally have held a similar position for the same duration. Technical skills in procurement, telecommunications, environmental transition, knowledge of donor regulations, and equipment management are essential. A technical specialization in mechanics, electricity, energy, or transport would be an asset. Candidates should also demonstrate strong management skills, interdepartmental collaboration, financial management proficiency, and resilience under stress.

Educational Background:
A degree in logistics or a related field is required, with preference given to candidates who have completed specialized training programs such as those offered by Bioforce. A bachelor's degree in logistics or Supply Chain management is also acceptable.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have between 0 to 2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a preference for those who have held similar roles in the past. This experience should ideally include exposure to logistics management in challenging environments.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages would be considered a plus, enhancing communication within the diverse teams and communities served.

  • The salary is competitive, starting at EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, along with a monthly per diem of USD 80
  • Solidarités International covers housing and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. The organization also provides a structured break system, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with additional rest days accrued monthly. Expatriates receive comprehensive health insurance covering medical expenses, including vaccinations and malaria treatment.
