Job Overview:
The Procurement Analyst position at UNFPA Moldova is crucial for supporting the humanitarian program team in the procurement of goods, supplies, and services. The role requires a proactive approach to addressing complex procurement challenges, ensuring timely delivery of program interventions. The Procurement Analyst will work closely with the Humanitarian team, Programme, and Operations staff to facilitate effective program implementation. This position is integral to maintaining a collaborative and client-oriented approach within the country office and the broader UN community, ensuring that procurement processes align with UNFPA policies and procedures. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and accountability of procurement support and services, ultimately contributing to the success of UNFPA's humanitarian response efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Procurement Analyst will oversee and plan procurement activities, ensuring the timely and economical delivery of goods and services. Responsibilities include coordinating procurement planning, reviewing procurement requests, monitoring contracts, and suggesting improvements to internal processes. The Analyst will conduct tenders for emergency procurement, consult with requestors, and prepare necessary documentation in line with UNFPA procedures. Additionally, the role involves managing UNFPA inventory, supervising logistics-operations" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">logistics operations, and participating in inter-agency meetings to represent UNFPA's interests. The Analyst will also maintain accurate records of procurement processes and facilitate communication between the country office and UNFPA Supply Chain Management Unit in Copenhagen. Other duties may be assigned by UNFPA leadership as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in business administration, public administration, procurement, economics, information technology, or a related field. A qualification in procurement, such as CIPS certification, is highly desirable. The role requires up to 2 years of relevant professional experience in a multicultural environment, preferably within the UN system. Proficiency in office software packages and web-based management systems is essential, along with familiarity with UN processes and procedures. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in teams, are critical for success in this position.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in a relevant field such as business administration, public administration, procurement, economics, or information technology is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding procurement processes and managing logistics effectively within the context of humanitarian response.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have up to 2 years of increasing relevant professional experience at the national or international level. Experience in a multicultural environment is essential, and prior work with the UN is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of procurement practices and possess the ability to navigate complex logistical challenges in a humanitarian context.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Romanian is mandatory for this position. Additionally, a working knowledge of one or more languages relevant to Moldova, such as Russian, Bulgarian, Gagauzian, Romani, Ukrainian, or sign language, would be considered an asset. Proficiency in multiple languages will enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders in the region.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with a fixed-term contract lasting 1 year, with the possibility of extension. The role is non-rotational and is open exclusively to nationals of the Republic of Moldova.
