Job Overview:
The Communications Analyst (NOA) position is located in the UNFPA Country Office in Moldova and is responsible for advancing the UNFPA mandate and Country Programme priorities through effective external communication, advocacy, and program communication strategies. The role involves analyzing political, social, and economic developments to inform communication strategies and maintain collaborative relationships with various stakeholders, including UN agencies, civil society groups, and media. The Communications Analyst will guide internal and external communications, develop communication strategies, and ensure the visibility of UNFPA's work and its impact on the community. This position is crucial for promoting UNFPA's goals and engaging the public in its initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Analyst will monitor and analyze the political, social, and economic environment relevant to UNFPA’s work, identifying opportunities for strategic communications interventions. Responsibilities include guiding internal and external communications, coordinating the development of communication strategies, maintaining collaboration with media and civil society, drafting and editing various communication materials, managing the UNFPA website and social media accounts, organizing public support for events, overseeing the production of advocacy materials, and evaluating the impact of communication efforts. Additionally, the Analyst will lead program initiatives aimed at raising awareness and engaging communities on reproductive health and gender equality, build the capacity of national partners in effective communication, and advise on donor relations and resource mobilization strategies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related social science field. Prior experience in communication and advocacy on social issues, media relationship management, and digital media is highly desirable. Knowledge of communication approaches, tools, and methodologies is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, be able to work collaboratively in teams, and communicate effectively for impact.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related social science field is required for this position. This educational background ensures that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the Communications Analyst role.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in the field of communication and advocacy, particularly in social issues, media relationship management, and digital media. Experience in resource mobilization and communication for behavior and social change is considered an advantage. Languages:
Fluency in English, Romanian, and Russian is required for this position. Additional Notes:
This is a full-time, fixed-term position with a duration of one year, renewable based on performance and organizational needs. The position is open to nationals of the Republic of Moldova only. The role is non-rotational, meaning it is intended for individuals who will remain in the position for the duration of the contract.
