Job Overview: The Project Communications Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting UNFPA Panama's institutional positioning and communications for various projects. Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Communications Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: providing technical support for UNFPA Panama's institutional positioning; assisting in the development and implementation of communication strategies for UNFPA-led projects; coordinating communication activities with local organizations, particularly those involved with SENADAP and the Afro-descendant movement; creating and disseminating communication materials such as reports, press releases, and social media content; monitoring and analyzing media coverage related to UNFPA's work; collaborating with team members to ensure consistent messaging and branding; and participating in meetings and events to represent UNFPA and its initiatives. The assistant will also be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to UNFPA's values and standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, advertising, or a related field. Additionally, they should have a solid understanding of communications strategies and local media operations. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish are essential, along with a basic understanding of English, which is highly valued. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, responsibility, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Familiarity with human rights, gender issues, and intercultural approaches is also important, as is experience working with international organizations.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, advertising, or a related field is required for this position.
