Job Overview: The position of Consultant for Digital Journalism and Media Literacy involves working with the OSCE Mission to Serbia's Media Department to enhance the digital competencies of journalists, educators, and citizens. Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including: conducting research on media literacy and digital skills; delivering expert lectures and workshops on topics such as combating misinformation, ethical journalism, and the use of AI in newsrooms; providing counseling on the use of digital media; and addressing emerging cyber threats. The consultant will also be expected to tailor their presentations and materials to suit different audiences, including journalists, educators, and children. Additionally, the consultant will work under the supervision of the National Media Development Officer and National Legal Officers, ensuring that all activities align with the OSCE's mission and objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess citizenship or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia, along with a university degree in communication, journalism, electronic communications, psychology, media studies, social sciences, or a related field. A minimum of five years of specific experience in journalism, media literacy, or platform-based technology is required. Knowledge of emerging technologies and full computer literacy are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate professional fluency in both English and Serbian, possess the ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds, and show gender awareness and sensitivity in their work.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in fields related to communication, journalism, media studies, or social sciences. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of media and digital literacy in today's society.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in journalism, media literacy, or technology-related fields.
