Job Overview: The ICT Assistant position is crucial for providing technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of IT services within the OSCE Mission to Serbia. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the National ICT Officer and will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to user support, system management, and data archiving. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery. The incumbent will assist mission members with technical issues, manage user accounts, and support video-teleconferencing systems, among other responsibilities. The position is designed to enhance the efficiency of the mission's operations through effective IT support and management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the ICT Assistant include:
Providing user support for standard office automation products, including MS Office applications, email systems, and multifunctional printers.
Assisting mission members with video-teleconferencing systems and ensuring their effective use.
Troubleshooting technical issues related to IT equipment and software, providing solutions, and documenting assistance requests.
Managing records and archiving data using SharePoint or similar solutions, and maintaining the mission's intranet page.
Testing and deploying new software and hardware products, as well as updating operating systems and software on desktop and notebook computers.
Acting as the system support for the Local Area Network (LAN), managing user accounts, and overseeing printer management.
Keeping a logbook of issued equipment and managing the relocation and maintenance of IT assets.
Performing additional duties as required, including driving official vehicles to install ICT equipment for events outside the OSCE premises.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess citizenship or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia. A completed secondary education is required, supplemented by formal training in information technology (ICT). Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in data processing applications, with a strong background in providing user support for office automation packages, preferably in an international or public sector environment. Proficiency in standard Microsoft packages and other common office software is essential, along with excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Serbian. A valid driving license is also required, along with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), with additional formal training in information technology (ICT) being highly desirable. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the technical aspects of the role and effectively supporting the mission's IT needs.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in data processing applications and user support for office automation packages. Candidates should have extensive practical experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, particularly in an international or public sector context. This level of experience is crucial for ensuring that the ICT Assistant can effectively support mission members and maintain the operational integrity of IT systems.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Serbian is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is vital for providing user support and collaborating with mission members. While proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, the primary requirement is strong communication skills in the two specified languages.
Additional Notes: The position offers a one-year fixed-term Letter of Appointment, subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period. The contract may be renewed annually based on performance and the ongoing need for the role. The monthly remuneration is approximately EUR 1,308.33, subject to social security deductions.
