Job Overview: The Project Management Support Officer position is situated within the UN Partners Team, dedicated to providing operational and administrative support to various United Nations agencies under the GVA office, specifically based in Copenhagen. The role involves collaboration with 10 UN partners, ensuring efficient operational delivery in areas such as procurement, grants management, human resources, travel coordination, and workshop management. The officer will be responsible for managing grant support and human resources management, ensuring quality service delivery that meets client needs. The position requires a proactive approach to project management, with responsibilities including the drafting of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), financial monitoring, and compliance with audit recommendations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Management Support Officer will perform a variety of functions under the supervision of the Programme Management Specialist. Key responsibilities include acting as the focal point for project management support, coordinating operational services related to grants, human resources, travel, financial management, procurement, and logistics. The officer will draft Calls for Proposals, coordinate evaluations, and manage financial transactions to ensure compliance with UN standards. Additionally, the role involves managing HR contracts, overseeing recruitment processes, and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders. The officer will also engage in knowledge management, documenting best practices, and leading training programs to enhance organizational learning.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level university degree (bachelor’s) in fields such as Business Administration, Project Management, HR, Procurement, Public Administration, Economics, Environment, Political Sciences, International Relations, Social Sciences, or Development Studies. A Master’s Degree in related fields is an asset and may compensate for some years of experience. A minimum of two years of experience in project management, operations, or related fields is required, with specific experience in grant management, HR management, budget management, accounting, and procurement being essential. Familiarity with UN/UNOPS policies and procedures is desirable, along with proficiency in computer usage, particularly with Google tools and ERP systems.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position includes a first-level university degree (bachelor’s) in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Project Management, HR, Procurement, Public Administration, Economics, Environment, Political Sciences, International Relations, Social Sciences, or Development Studies.
