Responsibilities include conducting analysis on Finland's political landscape, Official Development Assistance (ODA), and budget; supporting the development and publishing of communications materials through social media channels like LinkedIn and X; assisting in planning and conducting public events such as conferences, seminars, and report launches; translating news articles and media pitches between Finnish and English; preparing briefing materials for seminars, meetings, and international visits; and providing administrative support to the team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess excellent communication skills in both English and Finnish, both written and oral. A strong interest in global development and knowledge of international organizations is essential. Familiarity with social media platforms, web publication tools, and graphic design software such as Canva is advantageous. Candidates should be team players who can work collaboratively to achieve organizational goals, possess good organizational and time management skills, and be able to work independently. Knowledge of the UN, UNDP, and the Sustainable Development Goals is a plus.
Educational Background: Applicants must meet one of the following eligibility criteria: be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (such as a master’s program or higher); be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (such as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent); have recently graduated with a university degree and must start the internship within one year of graduation; or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
Experience: The internship is designed for individuals who are either currently enrolled in a relevant academic program or have recently graduated. Therefore, prior professional experience is not strictly required, but a strong interest in global development and familiarity with the workings of international organizations will be beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written Finnish and English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.
