Job Overview: The position involves working as a consultant to finalize the action plan for the SNDS (National Sustainable Development Strategy). Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
Conduct a thorough review of the existing SNDS action plan and related documents.
Facilitate stakeholder consultations to gather input and feedback on the action plan.
Develop recommendations for improving the action plan based on stakeholder feedback and best practices.
Prepare and present reports summarizing findings and recommendations to UNDP and other stakeholders.
Ensure that the action plan is aligned with national and international sustainable development frameworks.
Collaborate with UNDP staff and other consultants to integrate feedback and finalize the action plan.
Provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the implementation phase of the action plan.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills, with a proven track record in sustainable development or related fields. Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement is essential. Familiarity with UNDP processes and frameworks will be considered an asset. The consultant should demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment, adapting to the needs of various stakeholders. A strong commitment to ethical practices and sustainability is also required.
Educational Background: A master's degree in environmental science, sustainable development, public policy, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in project management or stakeholder engagement will be advantageous. Candidates should have a solid understanding of sustainable development principles and practices, as well as familiarity with national and international frameworks related to sustainability.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sustainable development, project management, or policy analysis is required. Experience working with governmental or international organizations, particularly in the context of sustainable development strategies, is highly desirable. The consultant should have a demonstrated ability to lead consultations and engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.
Languages: Fluency in both French and English is mandatory, as the position requires communication with various stakeholders and the preparation of documents in both languages. Knowledge of Arabic would be considered an asset, enhancing the consultant's ability to engage with local stakeholders and communities.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as a consultancy contract for a duration of 5 months, with a commitment of approximately 42 hours per week. The consultant will be expected to work remotely, with potential travel to Tunisia for stakeholder consultations as necessary. The compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and the consultant will be responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
