Job Overview:
The Driver position at NRC is crucial for ensuring safe and efficient transportation for staff and materials during field missions, trainings, and workshops. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's primary responsibilities include:
  • Adhering to all traffic rules and speed limits while driving.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is clean and well-maintained, including daily checks of oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires.
  • Keeping the garage clean and tidy, including managing any spills or leaks.
  • Filling out the logbook for all trips and ensuring that other drivers do the same.
  • Maintaining valid licenses, insurance cards, and vehicle permits, and ensuring they are available in the vehicle.
  • Following the NRC Drivers’ Manual and Checklist instructions.
  • Performing minor repairs on the vehicle and reporting major repair needs to the supervisor.
  • Providing logistical support to NRC teams during field missions, trainings, and workshops.
  • Completing any additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the Driver position, candidates must possess a valid driver’s license registered in the country. They should have experience working as a Driver in a humanitarian or recovery context, with a minimum of three years of driving experience in both manual and automatic vehicles. Candidates must demonstrate documented results related to the responsibilities of the position and possess some knowledge of English. Familiarity with the local context and fluency in local languages are also essential for effective communication and operations.

Educational Background:
While specific educational requirements are not detailed, candidates are expected to have a valid in-country registered driver’s license. Additional training or certifications related to vehicle maintenance or safe driving practices may be beneficial.
