Job Overview:
The National Consultant for Gender Equality Profile Development will play a crucial role in leading the development of the Jordan Country Gender Equality Profile (CGEP). This position involves conducting comprehensive desk reviews, data consolidation, and drafting analytical reports that reflect the status of women and girls in Jordan. The consultant will ensure that the CGEP aligns with international frameworks such as CEDAW, SDG 5, and the Beijing Platform for Action. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) and the Gender Theme Group (GTG), to ensure that the report is inclusive and reflects diverse perspectives. The consultant will be responsible for producing high-quality outputs that contribute to advancing gender equality in Jordan, and will report directly to the Deputy Representative of UN Women.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties will include conducting a desk review of existing analytical products and reports, synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data, mapping gaps in available evidence, and drafting the CGEP. The consultant will develop thematic chapters covering various aspects of gender equality, facilitate consultations with stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and produce a final CGEP. The consultant will also support the preparation of key messages and presentation materials for the CGEP launch. The work will be divided into phases, including data consolidation, drafting, stakeholder consultations, and finalization and dissemination of the CGEP.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree (or equivalent) in gender studies, development studies, public policy, economics, law, social sciences, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Professional certification in research methods, impact evaluation, or project management is considered an asset. Candidates should have at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in research and analysis related to women's rights and gender equality, with demonstrated expertise in gender analysis and national gender policies. Experience in leading multi-chapter country profiles and coordinating inter-agency drafting and review cycles is required.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in gender studies, development studies, public policy, economics, law, social sciences, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. Professional certifications in relevant fields are advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in research, analysis, and production of knowledge products focused on women's rights and gender equality. Experience in gender analysis, national gender policies, and leading assessments is essential. Familiarity with UN coordination processes and gender accountability tools is desirable, along with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is home-based, but may require travel. The consultant will work under the technical supervision of UN Women Jordan and will be supported by a Coordination associate.
