Job Overview:
The position of Consultant.e national.e for the elaboration of a stakeholder engagement plan for the implementation of CDN 3.0 is crucial for the UNDP's efforts in Ivory Coast. The consultant will be responsible for developing a comprehensive plan that outlines how various stakeholders will be engaged in the implementation of the CDN (Contributions Determined at National level) 3.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of the local context, stakeholder dynamics, and the specific goals of the CDN initiative. The consultant will work closely with UNDP and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the engagement plan is inclusive, effective, and aligned with national priorities. The mission period is set for 30 working days, which includes 5 days of fieldwork and the delivery of the required outputs. The consultant is expected to submit their proposal directly through the UNDP supplier portal, adhering to the guidelines provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will have several key duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Conducting a thorough analysis of the current stakeholder landscape related to CDN 3.0 in Ivory Coast.
  • Engaging with various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to gather insights and perspectives on the CDN implementation.
  • Developing a detailed stakeholder engagement plan that outlines strategies for communication, collaboration, and participation of stakeholders in the CDN process.
  • Facilitating workshops and meetings with stakeholders to discuss the engagement plan and gather feedback.
  • Preparing and submitting reports and deliverables as required, ensuring that all outputs meet the quality standards set by UNDP.
  • Providing recommendations for enhancing stakeholder engagement and participation in the CDN implementation process.
  • Ensuring that the engagement plan is aligned with UNDP's overall objectives and strategies in Ivory Coast.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, community development, or related fields, particularly in the context of environmental or climate change initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess stakeholder dynamics and interests.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Familiarity with the CDN process and climate change policies in Ivory Coast is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, social sciences, international relations, or a related discipline. A master's degree would be an advantage and is preferred for this consultancy role, as it demonstrates a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex issues related to stakeholder engagement and climate change.

Experience:
The consultant should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in stakeholder engagement, project management, or consultancy roles, particularly in the context of environmental or climate change initiatives. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or NGOs in Ivory Coast or similar contexts will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the official language of Ivory Coast and the primary language of communication for this position. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for communication with international stakeholders and for accessing relevant resources and documentation.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy position is for a fixed duration of 30 working days, which includes 5 days of fieldwork. The consultant will be expected to submit their proposal through the UNDP supplier portal by the specified deadline. The position is part-time, and the consultant will work remotely, with the possibility of field visits as required. Compensation will be based on the consultant's experience and the UNDP's established rates for individual contractors.
