The International Labour Organization (ILO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that aims to promote social justice and fair labor practices worldwide. Established in 1919, the ILO has a mission to ensure that labor standards are upheld and that all individuals have the right to decent work. The organization operates in over 180 countries and has a diverse workforce of approximately 3,300 employees. The ILO is committed to promoting rights at work, encouraging decent employment opportunities, enhancing social protection, and strengthening dialogue on work-related issues.

Job Overview:
The internship program at the ILO provides an opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain practical experience in international labor issues while contributing to the organization's mission. Interns will engage directly in the work of the ILO and will be involved in the implementation of principles, programs, and strategies that align with the organization's goals. The internship is designed to enhance understanding of international labor issues and to provide hands-on experience that is relevant to the intern's field of study. This includes collaborating closely with the Service Administrator, Resource Mobilization Officer, and management team to support the delivery of products and activities. Specific responsibilities include tracking progress on products led by the Fundamentals unit, contributing to the development of tools and documents that support resource mobilization efforts, and assisting in the organization of the 6th World Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour. A strong command of English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Additionally, candidates should possess excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills, as well as strong analytical abilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, along with a proactive approach to tasks.

Relevant fields of study include but are not limited to Social Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Economics, Development Studies, and Law. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of labor rights and governance issues that the ILO addresses.

Experience:
Candidates should have experience supporting project planning, execution, and monitoring processes, as well as resource mobilization, innovation, knowledge management, and/or communications. Previous knowledge or experience related to fundamental principles and rights at work, labor rights, human rights, social development, or sustainable development is highly desirable. Additional Notes:
The internship is initially for a duration of 3 months, with the possibility of extension to 6 months. This opportunity is specifically limited to candidates with disabilities. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of 2450 CHF, unless they receive funding from another institution.
