Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the production of multimedia content such as podcasts, infographics, and videos; managing social media engagement and public outreach based on research findings; collaborating with other ILO units and offices on joint initiatives; producing regular content for social media platforms; supporting communication strategies for various departmental products; coordinating events and managing logistics for in-person and online activities; curating and updating content on the ILO's official website; and performing administrative tasks related to communication planning and outreach efforts. Interns will also have the opportunity to support senior management on institutional topics and assist in preparing reports for the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must meet specific qualifications to be eligible for the internship. This includes being enrolled in or having completed a Master's or Doctoral program within the last year. A practical knowledge of English, both oral and written, is mandatory. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, and a willingness to adapt to the dynamic nature of international work. Familiarity with social media analytics, digital publishing formats, and experience in organizing events or webinars are considered beneficial.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in or completion of a degree in communication, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field. Candidates must be at least enrolled in a Master's program or have completed such a program within the past year to qualify for the internship.
Experience: While prior experience is not strictly required, candidates with previous experience in content creation, social media management, or multimedia production will have an advantage. Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar software is desirable, as it will aid in the production of engaging content for various platforms.

Additional Notes: The internship contract duration ranges from 3 to 6 months, starting on either the 1st or the 15th of the month. Interns will receive a monthly allowance of 2450 CHF, unless they are receiving funding from another institution. In cases of partial funding, the ILO will cover the difference to ensure the intern receives the full allowance. Additionally, interns will receive a monthly contribution towards medical insurance costs. Candidates from underrepresented or unrepresented member states may be eligible for financial assistance for travel expenses to Geneva. It is important to note that the ILO does not cover any accident or illness-related costs during the internship, and candidates must ensure they have adequate health insurance coverage.
