CICETE has implemented over 900 projects worth USD 1 billion, contributing significantly to economic and social development in China and recipient countries. The organization also engages in high-level conferences, exhibitions, and training programs, fostering collaboration with international NGOs and enterprises.

Job Overview:
The National UN Volunteer position is primarily supervised by CICETE and involves supporting cooperative projects with UNDP and UNV, assisting in the development of new projects, and contributing to capacity-building activities. Volunteers are encouraged to enhance their understanding of volunteerism, engage in local forms of volunteerism, and reflect on their voluntary actions. The role also includes contributing articles and news about field experiences to UNV publications, assisting with the UNV Buddy Programme for new volunteers, and promoting online volunteering. This position is integral to the localization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in China, focusing on rural revitalization, inclusive livelihoods, and capacity building for project management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The National UN Volunteer will undertake various tasks, including supporting CICETE in executing cooperative projects with UNDP and UNV, assisting in the development of new projects, and participating in capacity-building activities. Volunteers are expected to strengthen their knowledge of volunteerism, engage with local volunteer initiatives, reflect on their voluntary actions, and contribute to UNV publications. They will also assist in the UNV Buddy Programme, promote online volunteering, and encourage the use of the UNV Online Volunteering Service. Additionally, the volunteer will participate in events related to SDG localization and contribute to knowledge products on this topic.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong commitment to volunteerism and the principles of the United Nations. They should demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and a client-oriented approach. Strong communication skills, creativity, and the ability to empower others are essential. Candidates should also exhibit professionalism, respect for diversity, and self-management skills. Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, social sciences, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with advanced degrees or specialized training in project management, sustainable development, or related areas will be preferred. Educational qualifications should reflect a strong understanding of development issues and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in project management, development work, or volunteerism. Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies is advantageous. Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals and local development challenges in China will be beneficial. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and project implementation.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in Mandarin is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the local context may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and communities.

This position is a national UN Volunteer role based in Beijing, China. The living conditions in Beijing are characterized by a well-developed public infrastructure and excellent health services. While rent in central locations can be high, the quality of living is generally good. The position may involve full-time commitments, and volunteers will receive entitlements as per the UN Volunteer Conditions of Service.
