Job Overview: The Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in implementing and developing the strategies of Solidarités International. This position involves proposing sector-based strategies for all activities and ensuring that the technical approaches are of high quality and suitable for the needs of the population. The coordinator is responsible for overseeing the project cycle, particularly the operational monitoring of programs in the intervention country. This role also includes contributing to the capitalization process and improving the methods and techniques used by Solidarités International. The position requires the ability to manage emergency responses effectively, provide strategic orientation, and ensure the relevance and quality of projects. The coordinator will also be involved in personnel management, reporting, communication, representation, and maintaining relationships with financial backers while seeking funding opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the Program Coordinator include:

Coordinating technical support and operational monitoring of the programs.
Contributing to the capitalization of experiences and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in humanitarian/development studies, social sciences, management, or a related discipline. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years in a similar position. Specific skills required include a sound understanding of project cycle management, the ability to lead program development processes, coordination skills among internal departments, strong networking abilities with external entities, and good analytical skills. Candidates should also demonstrate a proactive and solution-oriented approach to work, as well as experience in protracted crisis contexts.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s Degree in relevant fields such as humanitarian or development studies, social sciences, management, or other related disciplines. Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a specific focus on emergency response and program management. Candidates should have 0-2 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating their ability to manage teams and projects in high-stress and insecure environments, particularly in conflict zones.
Languages: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset, as it enhances communication with local communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This is a salaried position with a starting salary of EUR 2,860 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2,600 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 750 is provided. The organization covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The contract duration is short-term, lasting for 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding. During the assignment, a system of alternating work and time off is implemented, allowing for 7 working days every three months, along with a USD 850 break allowance. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package that covers healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Gaza are described as very harsh due to ongoing conflict, disruptions to basic services, and limited access to essential products, creating a challenging working environment.
