Job Overview:
The Project Management Support - Analyst position is situated within the UN Partners Team, which is dedicated to providing operational support to various United Nations agencies under the GVA office, specifically based in Copenhagen. The role involves collaborating with 10 UN partners, including the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre (UNEP-CCC), to deliver essential operational and administrative support in areas such as procurement, grants management, human resources, travel coordination, and workshop management. The analyst will be responsible for managing procurement processes, travel arrangements, and workshop logistics, ensuring efficient administration and quality service delivery that meets client needs. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining high standards of service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Management Support - Analyst will perform a variety of functions under the supervision of the Programme Management Specialist, including:
  • Procurement Planning and Processes: Act as the focal point for procurement and workshops for the UNEP-CCC program, providing operational support to meet business needs. Review and prepare quarterly procurement and workshop plans, conduct procurement processes in compliance with UNOPS rules, and support UNEP-CCC personnel during workshops.
  • Work-Plan Development and Performance Monitoring: Assist in designing and formulating work-plans, setting clear goals and performance standards, and synthesizing best practices related to procurement and project management.
  • Monitoring, Tracking, and Reporting: Track processes using available tools, enhance reporting through Google tools, and utilize data sets for project reporting.
  • Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing: Update project data for monitoring and evaluation, contribute to knowledge sharing, and support the development of training materials.
  • Monitoring and Progress Controls: Maintain comprehensive documentation of projects, participate in team meetings to report progress, and define performance indicators in collaboration with the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree (bachelor’s) in fields such as Business Administration, Project Management, Procurement, Public Administration, Economics, Environment, Political Sciences, International Relations, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related areas. A Master’s Degree or equivalent in related fields is considered an asset and may compensate for some years of experience. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree, including experience in project management, procurement, and workshop management support. Knowledge of data analysis and proficiency in Google Workspace tools is desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a first-level university degree (bachelor’s) in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Project Management, Procurement, Public Administration, Economics, Environment, Political Sciences, International Relations, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or similar disciplines. A Master’s Degree or equivalent in related fields is advantageous and may offset some years of required experience, providing a broader understanding of the complexities involved in project management and procurement processes.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience for candidates holding a bachelor's degree. This experience should include professional working experience in project management, procurement, and support for workshops and events. Relevant experience at the national or international level in providing project management and procurement support services is desirable, indicating a familiarity with the operational needs of UN agencies and the ability to navigate complex project environments effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of any other UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively within the diverse linguistic environment of the United Nations.

Additional Notes:
The contract type for this position is an International Individual Contractor Agreement, classified at the ICS 8 / IICA-1 level. The contract duration is ongoing and open-ended, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
