Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator is responsible for providing methodological support to all program teams within SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL. This role ensures the quality and relevance of monitoring activities, internal and external evaluations, and the analysis and recommendations that arise from these evaluations. The MEAL Coordinator plays a crucial role in developing the organization's MEAL strategy, which encompasses monitoring, evaluation, and the integration of cross-functional issues such as protection, accountability to affected populations, community participation, and disability inclusion. Additionally, the MEAL Coordinator is tasked with conducting periodic Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNAs) to ensure that SI's interventions remain relevant to the evolving needs of the population. The position also involves rolling out new referral processes and providing training for teams, as well as overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of national partners. The MEAL Coordinator supports the Grants department by tracking indicators and ensuring that MEAL aspects of project management tools are established before project initiation. This role also contributes to decision-making processes within the Senior Management Team (SMT) and aids in the implementation of Project Cycle Management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The MEAL Coordinator's duties include but are not limited to:
Providing methodological support to program teams to enhance the quality of monitoring and evaluation activities.
Conducting internal and external evaluations and ensuring that recommendations are effectively implemented.
Developing and overseeing the MEAL strategy for the organization, ensuring it aligns with programmatic goals.
Conducting periodic Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNAs) to adapt interventions to changing needs.
Rolling out new referral processes and training staff on these processes.
Supporting the Grants department with indicator tracking and ensuring MEAL components are integrated into project management tools.
Building relationships with field staff and contributing to the MEAL working group within a consortium of NGOs.
Actively participating in SMT meetings and providing data-driven analysis to support decision-making.
Leading efforts to conduct secondary data reviews and needs analyses in field offices. 1
Contributing to the reporting of ongoing projects and the initiation of new projects, including the development of MEAL plans and capacity building for national partners. 1
Regularly visiting field offices to support MEAL teams and ensure effective implementation of MEAL activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in Project Management or a related field. They should have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years in a similar position. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of MEAL activities, proposal development, and assessments, particularly leading on MSNAs. Candidates should demonstrate detail-oriented analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as experience in strategy development and ethical communication. Strong communication skills are essential for interdepartmental coordination and external representation.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background in Project Management or a similar field is required. Candidates should have formal training or qualifications that support their understanding of humanitarian aid and project management principles.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in a similar role. This experience should encompass a full range of MEAL activities, including proposal development and assessments, ideally leading on Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNAs).
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while proficiency in French is considered desirable. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both languages to engage with diverse stakeholders and partners.

The role is based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and involves regular travel to field offices. The salary for this position starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 700 is provided, along with accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a system of work and time off, allowing for breaks every three months, with an additional rest day granted for each month worked. An insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical and surgical costs, is provided to expatriates. Living conditions in Kyiv are favorable, with access to amenities and opportunities for networking with other international colleagues.
