Job Overview:
The Field Coordinator serves as the delegated director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director for a specific region within Palestine where Solidarités International operates. This role involves proposing a regional strategy that aligns with the geopolitical and humanitarian context and ensuring its implementation upon validation. The Field Coordinator is responsible for overseeing that projects are executed in accordance with the Solidarités International charter and all internal and contractual procedures. This position requires mobilizing the necessary material and financial resources for program operations, supervising resource management, coordinating teams, and ensuring their security in the assigned area. The Field Coordinator acts as the direct contact and representative of the Country Director, navigating the complexities of working in a high-stress environment marked by insecurity and challenging living conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Coordinator's responsibilities include:
  • Coordination and strategic orientation to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitoring operational quality and relevance of projects.
  • Managing resources effectively to support program implementation.
  • Overseeing human resource management, including team coordination and security.
  • Engaging with financial backers and seeking funding opportunities.
  • Facilitating internal and external communication to promote transparency and collaboration.
  • Representing the organization in various forums and discussions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong educational background in logistics, transport, warehousing, IT, supply chain, or management. A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, with prior experience in a similar position being advantageous. Specific skills include strong team management and mentoring capabilities, adaptability to rapidly changing environments, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Candidates should also have good representational skills and a solid understanding of security management and humanitarian issues, particularly concerning internally displaced persons (IDPs) and camp management.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have an educational background in fields related to logistics, transport, warehousing, IT, supply chain management, or general management. This educational foundation is crucial for effectively managing the complexities of humanitarian operations in challenging environments.

Experience:
The position requires at least 3-4 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector. Candidates with prior experience in conflict zones and team management will be given preference, particularly those who have worked in similar roles or with organizations like Solidarités International.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic is considered a strong asset, enhancing communication with local communities and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a salaried position with a starting gross monthly salary of EUR 3080, which includes a base salary of EUR 2800 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 750 is provided. The organization covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the assignment location. The contract is short-term, lasting 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. During the assignment, a work-break system is implemented, allowing for 7 working days followed by time off every two months, with a USD 850 break allowance. Expatriates are also provided with a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Gaza are described as very harsh, with significant disruptions to basic services and high health risks, creating a challenging working environment.
