Job Overview: The primary objective of the position is to manage administrative, accounting, financial, and logistical operations at the base, ensuring compliance with donor procedures and the standards of Solidarités International. The Administrator-Logistician will organize logistical and administrative support for the base and will be responsible for the accounting and financial management procedures. This role involves overseeing all financial management activities at the base and general services. The Administrator-Logistician will work alongside a procurement logistician who will manage program purchases and stock management. The position requires balancing the dual responsibilities of logistics and administration while prioritizing tasks and structuring the base effectively. The first two to three months will focus on updating financial tools, maintaining accounting records, monitoring general service purchases, and ensuring the proper use of base-related tools such as vehicle logbooks and travel requests.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Administrator-Logistician will be responsible for the following duties:
Ensure the proper management of administrative, financial, and logistical operations at the base.
Supervise the financial management activities and general services of the base.
Organize logistical support and administrative tasks in compliance with SI procedures.
Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation.
Monitor and report on the use of financial tools and resources.
Collaborate with the procurement logistician on program purchases and stock management.
Update financial tools and ensure the proper functioning of accounting journals.
Ensure compliance with donor requirements and internal policies.
Provide training and support to local staff on financial and logistical procedures. 1
Participate in the development of project proposals and budgets as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
A degree in finance, logistics, or a related field.
Proven experience in humanitarian work, with a minimum of 3-4 years in a similar role.
Strong technical skills in financial and logistical management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as SAGA and LINK is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Methodical approach to tasks and the ability to prioritize effectively.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a relevant educational background, typically a degree in finance, logistics, or a related field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of financial management and logistical operations within a humanitarian context.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in a similar administrative and logistical role. This experience is crucial for effectively managing the responsibilities associated with the position and for navigating the challenges that arise in humanitarian operations.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
Additional Notes: The position is a short-term contract with a duration of one year, with the potential for a longer-term contract depending on performance and organizational needs. The role is based in Mayotte, and the salary will be determined based on experience, starting at EUR 3,867 gross per month (EUR 2,865 gross monthly salary plus a 35% cost of living allowance). Candidates should be aware that living conditions in Mayotte may present challenges, including water supply issues and limited access to certain goods, but improvements are being observed.
