Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is part of a project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through its Develop Public Private Partnership develoPPP program. This project, implemented by GIZ in collaboration with Ornate Agencies Private Limited, aims to promote the adoption of Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) and Rooftop Integrated Photovoltaics (RIPV) in India. The intern will be involved in generating scientific knowledge regarding the performance, viability, and environmental benefits of these technologies, as well as implementing skill development programs and advocating for supportive policy reforms. The role is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to sustainable energy solutions and gain practical experience in international development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for establishing partnerships with European companies focused on BIPV, writing reports for the dPPP headquarters team, and managing knowledge related to the project. Additionally, the intern will support the team in monitoring the international consultant to ensure tasks are completed according to the Terms of Reference (ToR). Coordination with the dPPP partner in India will also be a key responsibility, requiring effective communication and collaboration skills to facilitate project objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in fields related to energy, energy economics, sustainable energy, energy planning, environment, or sustainable economic development. Relevant knowledge of the energy sector and a strong interest in renewable energy topics are essential. The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing, is crucial. Business fluency in both German and English is required, while practice-oriented and strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently and under pressure are highly desirable traits.
Educational Background: A university degree in a relevant field such as energy, sustainable development, or environmental studies is mandatory for this internship. Candidates should be currently enrolled as students or have graduated no longer than six months prior to the start of the internship, ensuring that they are fresh in their academic knowledge and ready to apply it in a practical setting.
Experience: The position is designed for individuals who may not have extensive professional experience but possess relevant academic knowledge and a keen interest in the energy sector. Previous internships or projects related to renewable energy or international development would be advantageous but are not strictly required. The focus is on candidates who are eager to learn and contribute to the project goals.
Languages: Fluency in both German and English is mandatory for this position, as the intern will be required to communicate with international partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not a requirement for this role.
