The UNFPA GCC Sub-regional Office plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise and coordinating efforts among GCC governments in areas related to population and development, youth, reproductive health, gender equality, and statistics.
Job Overview: This Online Volunteer assignment is integral to UNFPA GCC’s mission to enhance the presentation and communication of its results and impact in the GCC region through the creation of its 2024 Annual Report. The Graphic Designer Online Volunteer will collaborate closely with the Programme team and the Data Visualisation Online Volunteer to design the layout of the report. This includes the development of data visualizations and ensuring that the final document is both appealing and informative, effectively showcasing the achievements of the UNFPA GCC Office to its external partners. The role requires creativity and attention to detail to ensure that the report not only meets aesthetic standards but also communicates vital information clearly and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteer will be responsible for several key tasks, including:
Designing the layout and structure of the UNFPA GCC Annual Report 2024, ensuring that the presentation of information is clear, concise, and engaging.
Developing visually appealing graphic elements such as infographics and images that effectively communicate key data and achievements.
Incorporating photos and other visual content into the report design to enhance its visual appeal.
Ensuring that the report is designed to be accessible and user-friendly in both English and Arabic, catering to a diverse audience.
Utilizing graphic design software and tools to create high-quality and visually appealing designs that align with the organization's branding.
Collaborating with UNFPA GCC team members to ensure that the design aligns with the organization's branding and communication objectives, fostering a cohesive and professional presentation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in graphic design, with proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar tools. A keen eye for aesthetics and details is essential, along with the ability to create visually compelling designs that effectively communicate information. Experience in designing reports or similar documents is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with data visualization techniques and an understanding of the UNFPA's mission and objectives will be advantageous.
Educational Background: A degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications or coursework in graphic design will also be considered.
