Job Overview:

Interns will work full-time for a maximum duration of six months, under the supervision of experienced staff members. The role involves engaging with member states and stakeholders to promote sustainable urban development through efficient transport systems. Interns will be expected to conduct research, analyze data, and contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations that support the Division's objectives. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn about the UN's operations and contribute to meaningful projects that impact economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting research on road safety and sustainable transport; identifying and collecting relevant information from various sources; preparing case studies and background materials for meetings; analyzing and compiling data into reports; creating infographics and communication materials for advocacy; preparing presentations on findings; and coordinating with Transport Division staff to identify key issues. Additionally, interns may assist with day-to-day tasks and support project preparations, gaining insight into the administrative functions of the UN.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific educational requirements. Candidates should either be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level). This ensures that interns possess a foundational understanding of economic affairs and related fields, which is crucial for the tasks they will undertake during their internship.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a strong academic background, ideally in fields related to economics, urban planning, environmental studies, or public policy.
