Job Overview: The Treasurer plays a crucial role within the UNOPS finance group, reporting directly to the Deputy CFO. This position is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial resources, ensuring efficient and transparent fund management, and providing strategic financial advice to senior leadership. The Treasurer manages financial transactions, investments, and the treasury budget process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and international financial standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial integrity of UNOPS and managing global treasury processes, banking operations, and foreign exchange risks.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Treasurer's duties encompass a wide range of responsibilities including:
Financial Planning and Management: Develop and implement treasury operation strategies, provide recommendations on financial planning and resource allocation, and supervise the preparation of the financial budget for the treasury function.
Investment Management: Oversee the management of investments, assess portfolio performance, coordinate with external investment managers, and lead the Investment Advisory Committee.
Cash Flow and Liquidity: Monitor cash flows, ensure adequate liquidity, and manage banking relationships.
Risk and Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, evaluate financial risks, and adhere to accounting standards.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed financial reports for stakeholders and ensure data accuracy.
Team Leadership: Establish work plans, monitor team performance, and foster a positive work environment.
Knowledge Management: Promote continuous improvement in financial operations and share best practices.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a graduate university degree in finance, business, or a related field. A combination of an undergraduate degree with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted. Professional accreditation in Treasury or Finance is desired, along with membership in an internationally recognized accounting or Treasury body. Financial Risk Management certification is also preferred.

Additional Notes: The position is a staff contract at level P5, with an initial duration of one year, subject to renewal based on performance and funding availability.
