Job Overview:
The Graphic Designer position at UNDP Jordan is crucial for developing effective visual communication products that support the organization's SDG mandate. The role requires a highly skilled and motivated individual who can create high-quality visual content that aligns with UNDP's branding and communication goals. The designer will be responsible for ensuring that all outputs contribute to a consistent visual identity for UNDP, collaborating with the communications team to establish long-term design strategies, and translating complex data into visually engaging formats. The position emphasizes a holistic approach to design, requiring the designer to maintain a unified design framework and integrate all materials into a broader visual narrative.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Graphic Designer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: developing and maintaining a unified design framework that aligns with UNDP’s branding; creating high-quality visual content such as banners, reports, social media assets, brochures, and presentations; translating complex data into visually engaging infographics; ensuring all designs adhere to UNDP’s branding and style guidelines; collaborating with the communications team to understand project requirements; producing templates for recurring reports and custom infographics for flagship publications; and identifying and documenting best practices and lessons learned from projects. The designer will also be expected to perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess proven experience in graphic design and data visualization, with a strong portfolio to demonstrate their skills. They should have strong conceptual and creative thinking abilities, as well as experience in effectively communicating complex data through visuals. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is essential, along with experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Knowledge of presentation design tools like Microsoft PowerPoint or Canva is also required. Experience in basic animation and interactive design is considered an asset, as is a proven track record of managing graphic production from start to finish.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Design, Visual Communication, Information Design, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the same areas, combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience, will be considered in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience:
Applicants with a master’s degree in a relevant field are not required to have professional work experience. However, those with a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience at the national or international level, specifically in graphic design and visual arts for multisectoral programming, including branding and strategic marketing.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is required for this position, as effective communication in these languages is essential for the role.
