Job Overview: The National ProjectCoordinator (NPC) will play a pivotal role in the project titled 'Strengthening Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and trade readiness in Thailand.' This project is designed to enhance the enforcement of labor laws in compliance with international labor standards, particularly focusing on fundamental principles and rights at work. The project aims to promote fundamental labor rights, support the ratification of key conventions, and advance the National Plan of Action on the Elimination of Child Labour. The NPC will coordinate with various stakeholders, including government bodies, employers, and workers' organizations, to achieve the project's objectives and ensure that labor rights are upheld in trade sectors. The role requires strategic planning, resource management, and effective communication to enhance the project's visibility and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities: The National Project Coordinator will lead and manage the project, ensuring timely implementation and adherence to ILO policies and regulations. Key responsibilities include:
Strategic planning and management of project resources.
Coordination with tripartite partners and stakeholders at national and local levels.
Monitoring project progress and ensuring high-level communications.
Providing technical inputs and advice on project outputs and activities.
Setting up and leading the Project Advisory Committee and local working groups.
Organizing and facilitating conferences, workshops, and training sessions.
Preparing reports, briefs, and communication materials in English and Thai.
Identifying synergies with other ILO projects and mobilizing additional resources.
Monitoring project activities and ensuring compliance with ILO guidance. 1
Performing other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in economics, management, social science, or related fields, along with demonstrated expertise or equivalent experience. Training in results-based planning, design, data collection, monitoring, and evaluation methodologies is advantageous. The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in project administration, and the ability to draft reports and guidelines related to program development and implementation. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to promoting gender equality through project work.
Educational Background: A university degree in economics, management, social science, or related fields is required. Additional training in project cycle management, results-based planning, and evaluation methodologies is considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of international labor standards and their application in project management.
Experience: The position requires at least three years of relevant professional experience at the national level, preferably in project management related to international labor standards, economic and social transitions, and sustainable enterprises. Experience collaborating with government entities, workers' and employers' organizations, civil society, and UN agencies is highly valued. Proven ability to promote gender equality through project work is also essential.
Languages: Candidates must have an excellent command of English and an official national language of the duty station, which is Thai. Proficiency in both languages is crucial for effective communication and reporting within the project.
Additional Notes: This position offers a fixed-term contract for two years, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
